Artists Support Healthcare Reform
nthWORD Teams with Democracy for America (DFA)

Burlington, VT – October 20, 2009. nthWORD, an online arts and culture magazine based in Burlington urges artists, creative-minded people, and anyone who cares about their health and the health of their families, to support Gov. Howard Dean and Democracy for America's (DFA) "America Can't Wait" campaign (americacantwait.com) for healthcare reform by signing their petition. The DFA, also based in the Burlington Area, is the nation's largest progressive political action community, with over one million members.

Ryan O'Connor, Editor and Co-founder of nthWORD, was made aware of the petition through a friend who posted a link on popular social networking site Facebook. Immediately recognizing the importance of this issue O'Connor decided to try and help increase the campaigns visibility by creating a co-branded advertisement with the DFA that would appeal to nthWORD's readers and fans. "This issue is close to our audience and contributors," explains O'Connor, "as many independent artists are without proper healthcare".
